FAQ's

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q- What type of massage do you offer?

A- Massage where people might have general stress and muscle tension.

Q- Can my sexual organs be touched?

A- NO.  Any such request for that or suggestions like going out for a private meeting are not acceptable and will have consequences.

Q- Does massage therapy hurt?

A- If you don't like deep pressure you will make this known at the initial Health Intake discussion.  It is common to feel slight pain when stubborn knotted muscles are being released.

Q- What is a knot in my body?

A- The tiny muscle fibres, along their length, have sections where the fibres contract during use. With repetition, the area of contraction does not release in preparation for future contractions.  This leads to muscle weakness, sometimes pain in the area of the knot, and sometimes a pain pattern along the body.  When a referral pattern along the body occurs, the knot is then called a Trigger Point.

Q- What are the different type of massage therapy and what are the benefits of them?

A- Read this blog,"Ten Massage Styles and their benefits."     Blog | TaraLeelaPrashad.

Q- Showers. Do you have a shower?

A- No, showers are not available. Please arrive clean.

Q- Can I book a pregnancy massage at any time?  Who is it suited for?

A- Please do NOT book a massage during your first trimester.  Please receive clearance from your doctor before booking an appointment.  These massages are suited to expectant mothers who are looking for a gentle relaxation massage only.

Q- My health and diseases.
A- Any adult with NO infectious diseases is welcome to book an appointment.

Q- Cancellations policy?
A- Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment will result in a full loss of your deposit.

Q- Late arrival and time loss?
A- Please arrive in good time for your appointment, as there is no time to extend your appointment.
Q- Security?  Is the therapist and building safe?
A- Your therapist has been DBA cleared and is professionally trained. The building has CTV security, and local police are often in the area.

Q-  What clothes do I remove to receive a massage?

A- It is entirely up to the individual, but under all circumstances, the underwear bottoms must stay on. Most people prefer a holistic massage, meaning that even if most of their tension is in the muscles of their back, they still see the benefit or appreciate that releasing tension in the thighs and hips is extremely beneficial. This is why most people will remove all out layers of clothes, including the bra for most women.
Some people prefer a massage with more stretching. In this situation, wearing sports shorts and a T-shirt is absolutely the best.

Q- Is the room warm during the winter?
A- Yes. Plus, there is a heated pad and warmed oil if you choose.

Q- How do you protect me from germs?
A- After every massage, the massage table and floor is disinfected. The therapist cleans hands before every service.

Q- What do I do if I don't like the pressure or anything about the service?
A-You are encouraged to express what you are experiencing. For example, if the pressure on an area being worked on is too strong or too weak, you are encouraged to immediately say "less pressure there", "more pressure there", "please avoid that part" etc.
